1. General principles
You must use the Services lawfully, responsibly and in a way that does not harm OG VoIP, our carriers, other customers or the people you call. You are responsible for all traffic sent through your account, including traffic from your own end users.
2. Prohibited activities
Illegal and harmful communications
- Any activity that is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory or obscene.
- Scams, including impersonation of government agencies, banks, tech support or other organizations, and any attempt to obtain money, credentials or personal data under false pretenses.
- Communications that promote violence, exploit minors or infringe intellectual property rights.
Caller ID abuse
- Displaying a caller ID you do not own or are not authorized to use.
- Spoofing caller ID with intent to defraud, cause harm or wrongfully obtain anything of value.
- Rotating numbers to evade call blocking or spam labelling ("snowshoeing").
Unsolicited and unlawful calling
- Robocalls, prerecorded or artificial-voice calls, or autodialed calls without the consent required by law (including the U.S. TCPA and equivalent laws elsewhere).
- Calling numbers registered on national Do-Not-Call lists without an applicable exemption.
- Calling outside the hours permitted by law, or failing to honour opt-out requests.
Fraud and artificial traffic
- International revenue share fraud (IRSF), traffic pumping or access stimulation.
- Generating artificial or looped calls, calls to premium-rate numbers for revenue, or wangiri ("one-ring") schemes.
- Using the Services to test stolen credentials or to probe other networks.
Network abuse
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems, accounts or other customers' data.
- SIP scanning, brute-force attacks, denial-of-service attacks or any activity that degrades network performance.
- Reselling or sharing the Services without our written authorization.
3. Traffic quality requirements
To keep routes healthy for everyone, outbound traffic is expected to maintain reasonable quality indicators. Traffic with an abnormally short average call duration, an extremely low answer rate, excessive call attempts per second or a high proportion of complaints may be throttled, rerouted or blocked. High-volume dialer and call center traffic must be declared to us in advance so we can provision appropriate capacity and routes.
4. Your compliance responsibilities
- Obtain and keep records of any consent required to contact recipients.
- Scrub your call lists against applicable Do-Not-Call registries.
- Identify yourself and your business clearly at the start of each call, where required by law.
- Inform call participants when calls are recorded and obtain consent where required.
- Respond promptly to traceback requests and to our inquiries about your traffic.
5. Security obligations
- Use strong, unique passwords for SIP accounts, portals and APIs, and change default credentials.
- Restrict access by IP address where possible and keep your PBX and devices updated.
- Disable international destinations you do not need, and set spending limits.
- Report any suspected compromise immediately to contact@ogvoip.com.
6. Fair use of unlimited plans
"Unlimited" calling plans are designed for normal person-to-person business use by a single user. They may not be used for call centers, autodialers, predictive dialing, telemarketing, conference bridges, call forwarding to generate traffic, or wholesale or resale traffic. We may move usage that exceeds normal business patterns to a metered plan after notice.
7. Monitoring and enforcement
We monitor traffic patterns and may investigate suspected violations. Depending on severity, we may, with or without notice: issue a warning; block destinations or numbers; reduce call capacity; suspend extensions, trunks or accounts; terminate the Services; and cooperate with law enforcement, regulators and industry traceback groups. You remain liable for all charges incurred, and for any fines, penalties or carrier charges caused by your violation.
8. Reporting abuse
If you receive unwanted or fraudulent calls originating from our network, or you believe our Services are being misused, please contact contact@ogvoip.com with the calling number, called number, date, time and time zone of the call.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP to reflect changes in law, industry practice or our Services. The updated version takes effect when posted on this page.
